To guide the research activities over five years, a logic model was developed. Eight activities were identified. Short (1-2 years), medium (2-5 years) and longer term (5 years plus) outcomes were identified to provide a means for measuring progress in achieving the project’s objectives. The Project Management Committee used these outcomes, to evaluate the progress of the project each year.
The research activities outlined on the logic model are elaborated below. Activities 1 through 5 are incremental and sequential. Building partnerships (Activity 6), implementing and evaluating capacity development interventions (Activity 7) and engagement in research and dissemination (Activity 8) are ongoing throughout the five years of the project.
